Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 November 2026In short
Tangtang has no server, no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. All the money data it records stays on your device. The developer cannot see or access it.
Your photo library
If you allow it, Tangtang reads your photos to find bank transfer slips and bills. Text and QR codes are read on the device by iOS; no photo leaves your iPhone. Slip photos are not copied: the app only remembers the photo's identifier in your library. Receipts you scan with the camera, images shared into the app and photos sent in chat are copied into the app's storage on your device so you can view them later. You can turn access off any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos.
Camera, microphone and dictation
The camera is used only when you scan a receipt. The microphone is used only while you hold to speak. Speech is transcribed by iOS on the device only; if your iPhone can't do that, nothing is sent anywhere and you can type instead.
Optional on-device AI pack
If you choose to download the AI pack, the app downloads the Qwen2.5 model file from Hugging Face (huggingface.co), which sees the download's IP address like any file download. None of your money data or messages is sent. After download, the AI runs entirely on your device.
Notifications, Face ID, widgets
Notifications (sweep finished, the 8 pm check-in) are scheduled locally. Face ID is handled by Apple; Tangtang only learns whether it succeeded. Widgets, the Live Activity and the share extension use the same on-device data.
Purchases
Pro is bought through Apple's App Store. Tangtang never sees your card or payment details.
Backups and deletion
Backup files are encrypted with a passphrase you choose and saved where you choose. CSV files are exported only when you ask. App data may be included in your iPhone's own device backup (iCloud or computer) depending on your settings. Delete everything in Settings › Delete all data, or by deleting the app.
Children
Tangtang collects no data from anyone, including children.
